The art of a leisurely lunch

The “after-lunch” (sobremesa) is a very Spanish thing where diners remain chatting at the table long after finishing their meal. Usually they have a coffee, glass of liquor or cocktail during this after-lunch, which can stretch quite a bit depending if you're in a restaurant or a home. This custom is good for one’s digestion and for the group’s cohesion, communication and enjoyment of the meal and the time spent together.
